PupilPay makes in-school payments,
lunch order and allergy checking
simple, and fast.

Let's start with the beginning

Levi at FinTechShow

That's Levi, he's PupilPay's founder.
He got bored of hearing his dad complain about "Why can't they just use a card in school?".

Levi got bored of cash

Let's be honest, cash is slow. And unfortunately, many schools still only accept payment in cash. That's what PupilPay is out to change.

"They do not need to say a word; the simple act of explaining, step by step, what the code is supposed to do often causes the problem to leap off the screen and announce itself."

Let's rubber duck school payments!

And the issue quickly becomes obvious.

Let's just use cards. Oh-

Even though, Levi had a junior bank card, he couldn't use it in school, and not to mention the hassle it was to open that account.

But why don't they accept cards?

When we asked schools, we got the feedback, that it's not really worth having a bank terminal for them, as most of their customers were either too young to open a bank account, or it was just a hassle to operate it next to a register with the long queues.

So let's build it around them!

With the school's needs in front, PupilPay was born, aiming to provide a solution tailored around schools, and students.

Our solution

Flexible lunch management

Many schools operate in their own unique way. That's why we designed a flexible, and dynamic lunch order system, that can adapt to the flow of most schools.

Easier onboarding

As PupilPay isn't a debit card, but a prepaid card, different KYC policies apply, making onboarding simple and quick for parents.

Automatic e-receipts

When a transaction happens on PupilPay, we automatically issue an e-receipt instead of having to deal with a terminal and a register at the same time.

Improving customer acquisition

Our primary mission is to prepare students for a cashless future, that includes helping them open their first bank account. We aim to improve banks' customer acquisition.

So how does it work?

Closed-loop

PupilPay is something that's called a "closed-loop system", meaning that the money is paid into the cafeteria, where it will be spent later. Similar to a gift card.

The first step to a bank card

As PupilPay is a closed-loop system, it provides a guarantee to parents that lunch money is spent on lunch, and not other things. Perfect solution for first graders who aren't ready for their own bank card yet.

Reducing customer acquisition costs

Students becoming eligable for their first bank card + us = a win-win situation. We help banks reduce their customer acquisition costs, and it's easier for parents to open a bank account for their child.

Lunch, payments, and all the rest

PupilPay is more than just payments, and a lunch ordering system, our mission is to centralize all school payments under one roof.
